TRUST WORTHINESS Friday 16 March

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. Genesis 39:22

Read: Genesis 39:21-23

The presence of God attracts favour to your life. This it does in addition to moving you up and positively affecting every area of your life. To fulfil your destiny on earth, you need to have favour before God, men and even your enemies. From the Holy scriptures, we observe that anyone who pleased God enjoyed favour. In your place of work, you need favour. If you enjoy the favour of your superiors, promotion and other benefits will easily come to you. Even though Joseph met other servants in Potiphar’s house, because he was favoured, they soon became his subordinates. This year, the favour of God will single you out for promotion, increase, enlargement and greater opportunities. The favour of God will place you above your fellows.

Asides from favour, you should understand from today’s Bible reading that if God is with you, men will entrust you with critical assignments and even their own lives. One factor that distinguishes you from the crowd is trustworthiness. Can you be trusted? To what extent can people trust you? If you are not trustworthy, it shows to a large extent that you do not carry God’s presence. Do you know that there are some pastors whose members cannot confide in, while they feel more at ease with external pastors and even with those below the strata of ministers? Do you know that some men cannot entrust their wives to the hands of certain leaders? Some people cannot be trusted to keep the collections of a group; if given, they will end up spending the money and return with stories. The truth is, if you score low on the scale of trustworthiness, you will find it difficult to attract choice appointments and opportunities. The world is looking for those who can be trusted. This quality is needed in every facet of life. Any home that lacks trust may soon have the unpleasant experience of a divorce. Any officer who lacks trust may soon be shown the way out. If you want to increase your trust worthiness, seek to be a carrier of His presence. Can your boss leave everything in your organization in your care without regrets?

KEY POINT:
If you are a carrier of God’s presence, people will trust you as much as they trust in God.

Bible in one year: Matthew 16-19

BENEFITS OF UNITY Sunday 27 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19) READ: Acts 2:1-4 U nity is a powerful force in the universe. However, uniting against God, His Word or His children causes God to arise in defence of His Name. This is the other side of power of unity. Barring this, unity can accomplish almost anything on the face of the earth. In Genesis 11:5-6, God said that if the people of the earth were left with one language and as united as they were in building the city and tower, they will be unstoppable. The united are unstoppable. Unity is a powerful tool for achieving plans and purposes. But if operated in righteousness within the Christian fold, it is even more powerful. “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it sha

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop
