VISITATION IS MANDATORY Thursday 1 March

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. Matthew 8:14 Read: Matthew 8:14-17 W hen the Lord visited Peter’s house, you could appreciate the joy of Peter and his family. From this we learn that leaders should not be too busy to the extent that they cannot visit their close associates or subordinates. If there was a man who did not have time to spare because of ministry, it was the Lord. He was thronged about everywhere He went. Yet, He found time to visit Peter’s house. As a pastor, find time to visit the homes of your ministers. Do you know that some pastors may not know where their ministers live even after staying up to three or four years in the parish? They are not following the footsteps of Jesus. Visiting your ministers is important, so out of your busy schedule, create time for it. They will appreciate the visit and it will endear them to you. In the

PREVENTING JUDGEMENT Wednesday 29 February

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Ecclesiastes 11:6 Read: Genesis 8:8-12 T here is great power in a seed. The only way to unleash the potentials of a seed is by sowing it. If you want your seed to deliver its harvest to you, sow it. A seed sown is capable of preventing future curses and judgement from coming on you, your loved ones and even your community. Your seed can avert negative events or occurrences. Your seed can affect even the World! How powerful a seed can be! I Genesis 8:18-22, after Noah and other survivours of the flood disembarked from the ark, he gave an offering to the Lord of every clean animal and fowl. God perceived a good aroma from that offering and He said that in spite of the atrocities of men, He will no longer destroy the world with flood. The

MARKS OF CARNALITY Tuesday 28 February

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal and walk as men? 1 Corinthians 3:3 Read: 1 Corinthians 3:1-5 T o sustain the release of divine revelations, you must walk in the spirit. It is what you have that you will give out. You cannot be living in covetousness, lies and disobedience and expect to receive life transforming revelations from the Spirit. Anyone who desires to enter into supernatural encounters with the Holy Spirit must first purge himself or herself of carnality (2 Timothy 2:21). Are you still carnal? If you are living with “little white lies”, you are carnal. If you envy others or you are jealous of their progress, you are carnal. If you encourage or participate in creating camps in church on tribal or social status lines, you are carnal. If you hold a grudge against your fellow brother or sister but fail to settle with the fellow, yo

OBEDIENCE GENERATES STRENGTH Monday 27 February

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. Luke 22:43 Read: Luke 22:39-46 A nother lesson on open doors you ought to receive into your spirit is that even after you receive a permanent open door, the enemy would challenge it. Some people, who by their good works have been given a lasting open door, are experiencing closed doors for failing to resist the devil. If you let the enemy shut your open doors, don’t expect God to intervene. If you give room to the devil don’t expect God to stop him. If you want your doors to remain open, do something about it. Vehemently resist the devil, stand on God’s Word, and continue to please God. Always remember you have your part to play in keeping the doors opened. For instance, anyone enjoying open doors but stray into a lifestyle of sin will most likely suffer from closed doors. Sustained obedience and keeping the faith in Christ are also necessa

NO VACUUM Sunday 26 February

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 1 Samuel 16:14 Read: Luke 11:24-26 G od calls and He recalls. It is however better never to have been called or ordained by God, than to be recalled after being called. Why? When the One who called you withdraws from you, a vacuum is left behind and we know that nature abhors vacuum. So when He leaves, something else will fill that space. When you turn out the lights, darkness needs no invitation to take over. When the Spirit of God departed from King Saul, immediately an evil spirit stepped in (1 Samuel 16:14). While God was with Samson, nobody could withstand him. He remained a champion. But as soon as God withdrew, he became a weak fellow and his enemies removed his eyes and got him to start grinding corn for them, turning him into a laughing stock. As long as God is with you, demons will stay away and keep a safe di
