BEAUTIFYING OTHERS Friday 17 February

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:18

Read: acts 3:1-8

One way you will be remembered is how your life impacted others for good. It is very easy to forget those whose lives made no difference to the lives of others. How meaningful is your life? What legacy are you leaving behind for prosperity? I once visited a town for a programme. This town after being carved out to form part of a new state for some years, had no pipe borne water. I was told of a particular tree there that defied every effort to bring it down. On getting back home after concluding our programme, the wind began to blow, ushering in a terrible storm which uprooted the tree. Every evil tree affecting your life and family shall be uprooted by fire.

In Acts 3:1-8, we read the account of a man born lame, who was regularly laid at the gate called beautiful. Everyday, he saw people going in and out of church, and heard beautiful music but could not respond to these. He saw everything but could not participate in it. But one day, Peter and John touched him, the anointing flowed into him and the one who had been there for many years could no more remain at the same spot. Do you know that there are many people who are waiting for you to touch them like the duo touched this lame man? Make a demand on the anointing in you today. Go out and obey God’s simple command by speaking forth the Word and laying hands and you will see the Word transform the lives and circumstances of the people. There is power in the Word but if it is not released, it remains empty. Yes, like Peter and John, you can make lives beautiful. When you bear fruits in this area, God will replenish you to bear more fruits. God is ready to use you but are you prepared to pay the price? Are you satisfied with the low level of anointing you are operating when you can operate at a higher level? Ask God for more of His power today. Spend more time studying His Word. Consecrate time to seek His face and worship His Majesty on High. Then go and look for those that need the Lord’s touch and impact them.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, from today, make me restless until I positively touch the lives of others with what you have deposited inside of me.

Bible in one year: John 4-6

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop...

BENEFITS OF UNITY Sunday 27 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19) READ: Acts 2:1-4 U nity is a powerful force in the universe. However, uniting against God, His Word or His children causes God to arise in defence of His Name. This is the other side of power of unity. Barring this, unity can accomplish almost anything on the face of the earth. In Genesis 11:5-6, God said that if the people of the earth were left with one language and as united as they were in building the city and tower, they will be unstoppable. The united are unstoppable. Unity is a powerful tool for achieving plans and purposes. But if operated in righteousness within the Christian fold, it is even more powerful. “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it sha...

DROP THOSE EXCUSES! Wednesday 22 August

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whatsoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1 Read: Exodus 3:10-16 A fter his experience of the supernatural and God introducing Himself to Moses, he was given a specific assignment. He objected with reasons but they were not accepted. From this we learn that when God has decided to send you on an assignment, no excuse is good enough. You will notice that the more Moses excused himself from embarking on that assignment, the angrier God became (Exodus 4:13-14). Making excuses to avoid doing what God has assigned to you will easily put you on the wrong side of God’s judgement. Excuses can move you from God’s right hand to His left, from favour to disfavour, from blessing to curses. Has the Lord given you an assignment and you are piling up reasons for not obeying? You are to...
