BE A BLESSING Friday 27 January

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: Genesis 12:2

Read: Genesis 12:1-3

The outpouring of God’s blessings upon you could start from a point where you receive just day to day provisions. From this, you could be moved to another level where you will be so blessed to the point of you being frightened (Deuteronomy 28:1-13). This was the experience of Peter. Having toiled for so long without catching any fish, the Lord gave him a net-breaking catch of fishes and he, and the people working with him were astonished. He was so shaken that the Lord had to personally tell him not to fear. This year, the Lord will so bless you that you will be embarrassed and afraid. The kind of blessing and breakthrough you never thought possible will come to you this season in the name of Jesus. Many years ago while I was still teaching in Ondo State, Nigeria, there was this colleague of mine who had four girls but wanted a boy at all cost. Then his wife became pregnant and delivered a set of twins – boys. This teacher friend of mine ran away from home because his salary could not take care of six children. This year, the blessing that will positively embarrass you will come your way.

If you look at the patriarchs of old such as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you will discover from their experiences that the Jehovah El-Shaddai is not only interested in blessing you in little steps or giving you a blessing that will frighten you, but that He also wants to move you to a level of becoming a blessing. He told Abraham:

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: Genesis 12:2

The one who is a blessing can never lack what he or she is channeling to others. That is why this is such a better place to be. It is better to be a blessing than to be blessed. But you do not need to wait to have all the millions before you start giving to others. Start ministering to the needy now. Use your talents to bless and influence others to Christ. As you continue to touch more and more lives with words of comfort, your books, prayers, substance, and leading souls to Christ you will eventually operate from this highest level of blessing.

ACTION POINT:
Each time you give something to somebody, you are sowing into becoming a blessing. Positively affect the lives of 5 persons for the next 30 days.

BENEFITS OF UNITY Sunday 27 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19) READ: Acts 2:1-4 U nity is a powerful force in the universe. However, uniting against God, His Word or His children causes God to arise in defence of His Name. This is the other side of power of unity. Barring this, unity can accomplish almost anything on the face of the earth. In Genesis 11:5-6, God said that if the people of the earth were left with one language and as united as they were in building the city and tower, they will be unstoppable. The united are unstoppable. Unity is a powerful tool for achieving plans and purposes. But if operated in righteousness within the Christian fold, it is even more powerful. “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it sha

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop
