ENLARGE YOUR CAPACITY Monday 10 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

MEMORIZE: “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;” (Isaiah 54:2).

READ: Isaiah 54:2-3

If you will shine for the Lord, you must not limit His grace in your life. To some people, retirement means ‘nothing else to do’, or simply idleness. That is purely a reactive posture. To proactive retirees however, retirement means having more time to achieve greater heights for the Lord. How do you view retirement? Although God is ready to fill us up with more of His power, some people by their actions and attitudes have decided that they do not need more anointing. There are believers who, when they had no big titles or were ordinary deacons and deaconesses, would pray and fast, and pant after God. But today, because they have moved to senior pastoral levels, they believe they have arrived. They believe, in a matter of time, they will become the General Overseer. If you feel you have arrived, then there is no where else to go. Do you consider yourself to have arrived in your Christian race?

Whenever I travel to America and one of my children offers to take me out for shopping, I would ask them to take me to a bookshop. This is simply because I want to know more. One day, a brother who travelled with me from Nigeria, offered to take me for shopping. I agreed but told him it was at his instance. After picking several books and tapes, I observed he was doing some silent calculations. By the time I looked back again, he had disappeared. The elders say that it is what you love most that will be common among your possessions. What meets your fancy? There are some of us who by virtue of age and providence have attained the level where we do not need new clothes anymore. Some have accumulated enough shoes to last them the next 30 years. Even when there is no more room for clothes and shoes, there should still be room for development of your mind. You have to make God see that you have enlarged the space within you, for Him to fill you up with more of His power. How hungry are you for His filling? How much room is truly used up? Genesis 2:19-20 tells us the incredible level of wisdom Adam operated in. He was so full of God that he could name and thereby affect the destinies of all animals, birds and sea creatures. What have you achieved with what you have? How much time do you devote to knowing more?

BENEFITS OF UNITY Sunday 27 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19) READ: Acts 2:1-4 U nity is a powerful force in the universe. However, uniting against God, His Word or His children causes God to arise in defence of His Name. This is the other side of power of unity. Barring this, unity can accomplish almost anything on the face of the earth. In Genesis 11:5-6, God said that if the people of the earth were left with one language and as united as they were in building the city and tower, they will be unstoppable. The united are unstoppable. Unity is a powerful tool for achieving plans and purposes. But if operated in righteousness within the Christian fold, it is even more powerful. “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it sha

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop
