SPIRITUAL ADVOCACY Friday 29 June

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
Memorise: My little children, these things write l unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1
Read: Revelation 12:10-11
When you have a case in court, who do you call to speak for you? Your lawyer or defence attorney of course. Just as we have cases in courts in the physical realm, so also do we have cases in the spiritual realm. Believe it or not, verdicts from the spiritual courts supersede that of the physical realm. Many times, people only act out in the physical what has been decided in spiritual courts. Witches, wizards and evil people gather in the dead of the night to lay certain accusations against people and to pass judgment on them. You do not need to attend their meetings even though sometimes God can take you there to see what they are doing. A minister of God once saw himself on an elevator descending into the earth. As it stopped, he stepped into a meeting arena of people belonging to the kingdom of darkness. He sat with them and listened to all they were saying and doing, then he stood up and began to oppress them by pressing each of their heads downwards, saying, “So this is what you come here to do?” They were surprised to see him at their meeting. He was there oppressing them but they could not harm him because greater is the One inside of him.
Every evil gathering against you shall fail and their plans against you shall be disappointed in Jesus name. Sometimes God can give you a glimpse of the activities of your enemies. His purpose is for you to use this knowledge to fight these enemies. All the same, when a case is brought against you in the spirit realm, 1 John 2:1 says Jesus Christ is our advocate. In courts, you have defence witnesses who your lawyer will call. Romans 8:33 says God is your Justifier and Genesis 18:23-25 calls Him the Judge of the earth. And if He is for you who can be against you (Romans 8:31)? On the other hand, you have the accuser of the brethren-the devil and demons who bring cases against us (Revelations 12:10). Isaiah 54:17 says you shall condemn every tongue that rises against you. This is why you must not do anything to turn your Defence Attorney against you. As long as He is in agreement with you, victory over your accusers is certain.

Prayer point:
Thank God for your Advocate - Jesus Christ. Ask God for grace to remain in good standing with Him.
Bible in one year: Psalms 67-69

IDOLS FRUSTRATE EXPECTATIONS Monday 27 August

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. Proverbs 10:28 Read: Isaiah 44:10-18 B efore you receive a prophetic declaration, check out the fruit of the vessel-the prophet, pastor, or servant of God, whether the fellow is still in league with God. Some people say, “thus says the Lord,” but the Lord did not say anything to them. Some of them heard from themselves and spoke. Be careful of what you accept as being from God. In Jeremiah 28:1-4, Hananiah a prophet prophesied that in two years God was going to set Israel free from the yoke of the king of Babylon, but it was all a lie! Imagine the joy of the people when they heard that. But after two years, and the prophecy did not come to pass, all the expectations of the people failed. Instead of two years, they spent 70 years. In others, the prophetic lies of prophets cannot change what God want to do or alter its tim...

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop...
