ONE REQUEST, SEVERAL ANSWERS Sunday 22 May

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

MEMORIZE: “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” (Isaiah 65:24).

READ: 1 Kings 3:9-14

Not only can divine favour deliver from ministerial burdens, prevent a downward drive towards wretchedness, or bring the poor before kings, it can also accelerate the speed at which prayers are answered. This means that God does not have to wait for the favoured to completely voice out his or her request before answering; once He sees it in the heart of the fellow, He immediately puts in place the mechanism to deliver the request. Isaiah 65:24 says, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear”. God pre-empts His favoured children. Are you God’s favourite? If you are, the answers to your request will be granted even before you ask.

Another benefit of the favoured is that when he asks for one thing, he may receive three or more. King Solomon is an example. In 1 Kings 3:3-14, after being anointed to replace his father David, he went to Gibeon and offered God a thousand burnt offerings. When the Lord came to tell him to ask anything, he simply asked for wisdom. But because he was favoured, he got the level of wisdom that no man ever had. In addition, God gave him riches, honour, long life, a peaceful reign, etc. This year, because of God’s favour coming upon you, for every request, the Lord will give you double; for every good desire, the Lord will give you triple. Moreover, for the favoured, hard or difficult requests are granted. Elisha asked Elijah a hard request yet, because of God’s favour, he got it. This season, because of God’s favour, the Lord will grant your hard requests in Jesus name. What others seek but hardly find, you will ask and receive. Go ahead and worship God for His favour.

PRAYER POINT:
Ask that in all your endeavours, God’s favour should surround you as a shield. Everyone or group holding the progress of Nigeria to ransom, Father, arise and break them into pieces. Let their plans be frustrated completely.

IDOLS FRUSTRATE EXPECTATIONS Monday 27 August

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye Memorise: The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. Proverbs 10:28 Read: Isaiah 44:10-18 B efore you receive a prophetic declaration, check out the fruit of the vessel-the prophet, pastor, or servant of God, whether the fellow is still in league with God. Some people say, “thus says the Lord,” but the Lord did not say anything to them. Some of them heard from themselves and spoke. Be careful of what you accept as being from God. In Jeremiah 28:1-4, Hananiah a prophet prophesied that in two years God was going to set Israel free from the yoke of the king of Babylon, but it was all a lie! Imagine the joy of the people when they heard that. But after two years, and the prophecy did not come to pass, all the expectations of the people failed. Instead of two years, they spent 70 years. In others, the prophetic lies of prophets cannot change what God want to do or alter its tim...

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop...
