Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
MEMORIZE: “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blesses art thou among women” (Luke 1:28).
READ: Luke 1:26-32
When every satanic and human design to cut short your fame fails, you will know it is your day of favour. This season, the Lord will frustrate every plan of the enemy to stop your fame. Good news about you will continue to spread until it gets the ears of those who should know of you and assist you into your place of destiny in Jesus name.
Another way of recognizing your time of favour is when you receive an unusual divine visitation. One beneficiary of divine visitation was Mary. There is no record that she ever had such a visit before this time. But when her day of favour came, an angel—Heaven’s minister of information—Archangel Gabriel paid her a visit. The way he greeted her was strange and she immediately realized there was something good in store for her. One thing we can learn from this is that the importance of the message determines the messenger to be sent. In other words, there is a correlation between the message and the messenger. Sometimes, God sends men to deliver messages. Sometimes, He uses angels for important messages. At other times, He sends archangels like Gabriel or Michael to deliver very important messages. Yet, concerning some highly crucial information, God delivers it by Himself. Although all messages from God are important, you need to recognise the level of importance and urgency attached to the message by looking at the messenger used in delivering it.
Mary knew she was truly favoured above all women when an archangel was sent to deliver the news of the miraculous conception and delivery of the Creator of the world. Furthermore, during His earthly ministry, the Lord could only visit a few houses personally. During the days of Elijah, of all widows, the Lord sent Elijah to just one in Zarephath. Also, of all lepers in those days, God arrange a special visitation that brought healing to Naaman the captain of the Syrian host. This season, the Lord will organize a divine visitation to you (Luke 4:25-27). The Lord will send His angel to you. In that situation you are currently going through, the Lord shall personally visit you and turn things around for your good.
ACTION POINT:
When God visits you, there must be a change—either for good or bad. Pray that God’s visit will deliver good to you.
