Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye
MEMORIZE: “Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? Saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? Saith thy God.” (Isaiah. 66:9).
When children of God break the law of kinds and marry unbelievers, the product of such union will bring God’s judgement on that family. Are you in this situation? Repent wholeheartedly and ask God for forgiveness. Go to the pastor of a Bible-believing church, expose what you have done and receive counselling. The Lord will show you mercy.
Besides having the right foundation, another lesson we can learn from Exodus 2:1-10 is that what you conceive will be born. To receive a thing, first conceive it. If you can conceive a great picture of yourself and your family this year, it shall be born. Delivery follows conception. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? Saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? Saith thy God.” (Is 66:9). Have you conceived physically and when it came to the time of delivery, you could not bring forth? The Lord is sending you a word of deliverance today. Just say, “Lord Jesus, I receive your word of deliverance today”, and you shall take delivery in seven days. Every good idea or plan you have conceived shall be delivered in Jesus name. This also means that if you fail to conceive your desire, you will never see it materialize.
Some people confess they are pregnant but the signs they manifest negate their confession. How do you know if you have conceived something? “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh” (Luke 6:45). If you have conceived something, say an idea, it will show. It is very difficult to conceal a pregnancy. You will be full of what you conceive; it will take a lion share of your thoughts, time, and interest. You cannot but frequently speak about what you have conceived. The thought of what you have conceived will stir up excitement, joy and hope in you always. If you have conceived something, you will believe in it and it will set the path for you to follow. You will be eager to find out more about what you have conceived. You will take care not to terminate it. You will look forward with great expectation to the day of its delivery. Can you truly say you have conceived something good which you expect to birth?
KEY POINT:
If you cannot conceive a fruitful, progressive year ahead, you cannot birth it!
