WAIT Sunday 8 January

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4

READ: Isaiah 64:3-4

It is important to hear from the Lord at the beginning of a year, project, relationship or programme. If you can pay the price to hear Him, situations and circumstances that will come your way will listen to you. Usually, many find themselves too busy to hear from God and set out to decree certain desires. Yet they are surprised when their desires are never realized. Has the Lord spoken to you concerning this day, week, month or year? If you have not heard from Him, take time off to be with Him, talk to Him, worship Him and wait in His presence. He will speak to you.

It is important to wait on His Word because His Word comes with unbeatable directions that can secure the victory, breakthrough or success you crave. If you are in doubt of this, look at Peter. He toiled all night without catching a fish. Then the Lord chose his boat to teach the people by the lake of Gennesaret and Peter waited on the Lord. He did not become impatient but just waited. Sometime, after you have done something to provoke the Word, you may need to wait. Have you been waiting on Him for long? Keep your cool. Don’t be discouraged, wait some more. If you become impatient you may lose the Word that can transform your life. Peter finally received the Word and it gave him the direction he needed to change his story and unpleasant situation. As you wait on Him this season, you will hear Him for He will speak to you.

Apart from the direction He gives, there are lots of other benefits awaiting those who wait on Him. Today’s passage says what God has prepared for those who wait on Him is beyond imagination. This year, God has prepared so much for you but to receive them, you must be prepared to wait. The more you wait on Him, the more your take home from His presence will be. Nobody waits on Him and leaves empty. If you are too busy to wait on Him, you are ignoring Him. Waiting on Him is recognising Him as your source. Wait on Him from today!

PRAYER POINTS:
Ask for grace to wait on Him without losing stream. Father, uphold the leadership in Nigeria and use them to lead us to our promised land.

BENEFITS OF UNITY Sunday 27 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19) READ: Acts 2:1-4 U nity is a powerful force in the universe. However, uniting against God, His Word or His children causes God to arise in defence of His Name. This is the other side of power of unity. Barring this, unity can accomplish almost anything on the face of the earth. In Genesis 11:5-6, God said that if the people of the earth were left with one language and as united as they were in building the city and tower, they will be unstoppable. The united are unstoppable. Unity is a powerful tool for achieving plans and purposes. But if operated in righteousness within the Christian fold, it is even more powerful. “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it sha

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop
