THE LORD AS LIGHT Thursday 3 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

MEMORIZE: “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof” (Rev. 21:23)

READ: Revelation 21:23-24

White symbolizes purity and perfection. God wants you to be perfect. People should have good report concerning your conduct. Daniel was so thorough that his detractors could not fault him in his work (Daniel 6:4). The Spirit of excellence that achieved this feat in Daniel will accomplish same in your life. In Matthew 3:17, God said: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”. Jesus was so outstanding that God had good report concerning Him. The Lord will have a good testimonial concerning your love, devotion and service this season. What are you clothed with? If you see people dressed up, see beyond what they are physically wearing; they could be putting on something else. The clothes and jewellery some are adorned with are subsumed in pride. I have seen pastors decked in pride as they were about to mount the podium to preach. You can be sure that God will leave the scene and flesh will have its way. Even though you are yet to be perfect, it is necessary you continue to desire perfection and one day, you will get there.

White is also a symbol of peace. If you are at peace with God and neighbours, it will be evident. In addition, white is a symbol of surrender. When the Lord was in conflict with His flesh concerning the trip to the cross, He came to a point of surrender and said: Father, not my will but yours be done (Matt. 26:39-42). Many of us determine when to obey and when no to. All you have today and will ever have comes from God. In God’s school, there is no unmerited promotion. Before you ever make it to the next class or level, you must sit for an examination. There is no automatic promotion. Nobody can take an examination on your behalf as is done in the world today. The higher you go, the tougher the examination becomes. Whenever the elders in Heaven want to praise God, they will lay their golden crowns at the feet of Jesus Christ. White is also the colour of light. Revelation 21:23 says the Heavenly Jerusalem needs no sun because the lamb as its light is enough. One fact about light though is that it does not conceal anything. You can hide in the darkness but not in the light. The face of Jesus shone as the sun. No wonder Revelation 22:16 calls Him the Bright and Morning Star. He is the Star that shines by daytime. Any star can shine at night but it takes the light of the Most High to shine during the day. As you connect to the Light, your star will shine during night and day. Are you like the Light?

ACTION POINT:
Lord, help me radiate your light everywhere I go.

BENEFITS OF UNITY Sunday 27 November

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 18:19) READ: Acts 2:1-4 U nity is a powerful force in the universe. However, uniting against God, His Word or His children causes God to arise in defence of His Name. This is the other side of power of unity. Barring this, unity can accomplish almost anything on the face of the earth. In Genesis 11:5-6, God said that if the people of the earth were left with one language and as united as they were in building the city and tower, they will be unstoppable. The united are unstoppable. Unity is a powerful tool for achieving plans and purposes. But if operated in righteousness within the Christian fold, it is even more powerful. “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it sha

YOUR VOICE SHALL BE HEARD Wednesday 26 October

Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye MEMORIZE: “As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.” (Psalm 18:44). READ: Psalm 18:43-45 W hen Bartimaeus was steps away from his breakthrough, the crowd around him shouted him down. But by the grace of God, he doubled his efforts and cried out the more. He simply told the crowd: ‘If you think you have heard noise you have not heard anything yet’. The reality is that if you need help and send a faint cry in the midst of a crowd, they will want to shut you up. But if your cry is unparalleled, defying the voices of the opposition, there would be a general consensus by the crowd for you to be attended to, at least so that they can have their peace. This season, by the mercy of God, there will be a meeting of the crowd hindering your blessing and their consensus would be that you receive immediate attention. Another lesson from this story is that while peop
